Our unit model

Download Additional Info/Graphs

A key factor that makes Randstad different from its competitors some is the unit structure we deploy in the mass-customized segment, which represents about 70% our business in 2007. Each unit consists of two consultants who are responsible for both client service and candidate selection. They work as a team, ensuring one is always available to their clients and candidates, and are often dedicated to specific specialties. The client's consultants are the same people who recruit candidates for them and make the match. They are experts in the local labor market, and become experts in their clients' businesses, understanding their needs and the candidate profile that will best meet them.

Unit steering

A very important tool to target investments and savings in a sensible way is Unit steering. One of the most important items to steer on is productivity. This entails items such as the number of temps working per corporate employee and gross profit per corporate employee, but also the number of visits and calls etc. We measure these items at unit level, the smallest entities within our organisation, compare the numbers to best practice and steer based on the outcome.
